Hillside Cottage
Weatherboard clad home with Dutch gable roof line and separate garage
Design Brief
The clients came to A&C Irwin Builders with an architectural design sketch of a home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms that incorporated the spectacular view, was clad in weatherboard and included a separate scullery kitchen/laundry area off the main kitchen.
From the Builder
Hillside Cottage is a home with essentially two kitchens and many windows and doors making it a bright home with rural views from all windows. The six panel stacker sliding door opening onto the terrace incorporated a no step down drainage system to allow for seamless transition when walking from the main living area onto the terrace. The double glazed aluminium French doors opening from each bedroom onto the terrace were also a feature of this home along with a covered breezeway between the house and garage.
“From the beginning, nothing was too difficult for Ashley and Claire at A&C Irwin Builders. They worked hard to make our custom home come to life and we are very happy with the result!” — M.A.
